HARRISBURG – In recognition of the incredible achievements of individuals living with Down syndrome, Senator Scott Martin (R-13) has introduced a Senate Resolution designating March 21 as World Down Syndrome Day.

The resolution adds Pennsylvania to the considerable number of states and nations that participate in the annual event promoting greater advocacy for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome.

“Individuals with Down syndrome have gone on to accomplish amazing things, including working as fashion designers, accomplished musicians, teachers, leaders of nonprofits, small business entrepreneurs and much more,” Martin said. “New therapies and educational supports help individuals with Down syndrome adapt and thrive. Our society is richer and more vibrant because they are here with us.”
