December 13, 2017 - Thank you to Senators Rafferty and Dinniman, and Chris Demko, with PA Parents Against Impaired Driving, for their leadership in strengthening Pennsylvania’s DUI laws. Today the Senate Transportation Committee passed unanimously SB 961 which was amended to also include provisions set forth in my DUI reform legislation, SB 635.
December 11, 2107 - Senator Martin introduces the Penn Manor HS field hockey team, winners of the 2017 PIAA Class 3A state championship and national champions.
August 25, 2017 - Pennsylvania has a new ignition interlock law for first-time DUI offenders. Act 33 of 2016, becomes effective on August 25, 2017, and requires first-time DUI offenders with an illegal Blood Alcohol Content of .10 percent or higher to use ignition interlocks for at least 12 months. Yesterday, we received a demonstration of the system.
